Please note that we have already revised the fees for Japanese and Chinese translation services in order to maintain and improve our services , effective Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
We kindly ask for your understanding.
(1) Japanese translation of a foreign driver’s license
New fee: JPY 6,000 (previous fee: JPY 4,000)(Tax Exempt)
(2) Chinese translation of a Japanese driver’s license
New fee: JPY 7,000 (previous fee: JPY 4,400)(Including 10% Consumption Tax)
Application for a Japanese translation can only be made in Japan.

- Switch to a Japanese driver’s license.
- Drive with a Japanese translation attached to your license
(issued in Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco, or Taiwan). - Drive with an International Driving Permit (IDP)
